The second annual Possibilities Tour: “ Turning Deserted Spaces Into Dynamic Places”, is coming to town on Saturday, November 8 in Downtown Natchez. The Tour will take place between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. and will spotlight empty buildings in the downtown area of Natchez. This event represents an ongoing partnership with Alcorn State University, Natchez Board of Realtors, and Natchez, Inc.
The featured vacant buildings will highlight guided tours by local realtors and agents in the buildings they represent. Last year’s Possibilities Tour resulted in a number of buildings being leased by entrepreneurs for small business startups and offices.
A special treat in each of the buildings will be the showcasing of the creative economy of the region. Governor Phil Bryant proclaimed 2014 the Year of the Creative Economy in Mississippi, and Natchez is full of creative entrepreneurs. Each vacant building will include these talented individuals showing and marketing their products and skills.
In addition to the guided tours of buildings, this event will coincide with others that attract tourists and residents throughout the region such as the Natchez Children’s Home Chili Cook-off, Angels on the Bluff, Antiques Forum, and Second Saturday, all of which will be happening around town that day.
The Possibilities Tour: “ Turning Deserted Spaces Into Dynamic Places”, will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on November 8. For more information, contact Aimee Guido with Natchez, Inc. at 601-445-0288 or Ruth Nichols with Alcorn State University at 601-870-6000.
